New Company Alarm adviser: Digital supply chains are under attack in 2020

  

The COVID-19 pandemic has exposed vulnerabilities in the cyber supply chain, new Company Alarm advisor Chuck Brooks writes in a post on GovCon Wire

A world-renowned cybersecurity expert, Brooks writes in the government contracting periodical that cyber threats to supply chains have been rising in 2020 in all industries, including finance, oil and the government sector.

Brooks says that the goals of such supply chain hacks "are to breach contractors, systems, companies and suppliers via the weakest links in the chain. This is often done through taking advantage of poor security practices of suppliers, embedding compromised (or counterfeit) hardware and software, or from insider threats within networks."
