What is Business Identity Theft?

I want to talk to you about what is business identity theft. Well much like personal identity theft. We all know what that is.

Bad guys use your name, steal your date of birth, social security number, get loans, credit cards, and do other things in your good name right. Business identity theft is the same thing.

These bad guys will go to The Secretary of State's website, where your business is registered. There, they'll make a few simple changes. Maybe for instance, the registered agent's name and business address. Then from there, it's off to the races.

Oh yeah. They surely have to check mark a button there that says they had authorization to make those changes under some sort of crime, like penalty of perjury. But what do they care? They are criminals.

These fraudsters will then obtain credit, loans, goods, services, and even purchase property in your business's name. You won't know anything's happened until it's too late.

Well as a member of Company Alarm, you'll receive a text message immediately, anytime there's a business record change at The Secretary of State's office. Then if it was fraudulent, you could go back and correct your record. The bad guys won't hold a chance!
